Service Description

Now that your pottery is bisque fired, it's time to apply glaze! First you will prepare the work by sanding away rough edges, sponge cleaning the pottery and then choosing the glaze you will use! For all wheel thrown work, we use a high fire clay, therefore the glazes available are all food safe and dishwasher safe. You will apply wax to the foot of your work and possible other resist methods to create decorations to the pottery. You can also use high fire underglazes at this stage to be covered in a stoneware clear glaze afterwards. Premium glazes are available at a slightly higher cost. When the final glaze firing is complete you'll be notified to come and pick up your work! It will be ready for use or gifting and you can be proud of your accomplishments! Now that you know what you're doing in the studio, you can come back to work in "open studio" or join another course!
